We thank God for the opportunities he has provided for us in Romania, and for the great blessings he has bestowed upon the ministry there. We have strong and established programs for both the Master of Arts in Theological Studies and the Master of Divinity degrees.
Our ultimate goal, however, is that Central Baptist Theological Seminary of Arad, Romania would be a fully indigenous work. The purpose of the Romanian ministry, then, is not only to train pastors, but also to train as faculty men selected from among them, so that all courses are taught in Romanian.
We have developed and implemented a formal plan to accomplish this objective. Since its inception, three Romanian men have made significant progress toward the completion of terminal degrees. The first, Gelu Pacurar (Ph.D., Old Testament), is class of 2011. The second and third, Marius Birgean (Ph.D., Historical Theology) and Sergiu Dobre (Ph.D., Systematic Theology) are class of 2013.
The education of these three, and the others we intend to train, costs about $40 thousand each. This cost has been completely underwritten by Central Baptist Theological Seminary of Minneapolis and made possible by the generosity of donors who have given specifically for this purpose. We view each of these gifts as an investment in eternity. Perhaps you sense the need and view support of this ministry as an investment as well. Will you join us in this venture?
